I hate spending time on CDC MMWR reports as they are junk science at best, and at worst dishonest data games to get a desired result. That is NOT science nor good faith, it’s just nasty behavior.
Luckily, this sharp fellow did all the work to see what was going on:
Unrolled thread here for ease of reading or sharing
Short version: dishonest graphic. I am not going to type it all out, give Mahesh a read, he did a great job.
In MY OPINION (all caps, this in no way reflects the views of anyone I post!) there is no reason to vaccinate your age 0-12 kid. None. It’s all risk with no reward and even more so for males due to myocarditis risks. So the CDC is not a fair advisor here, in the end they always want you vaccinated, boosted multiple times, and wearing masks, we know, it’s not some scientific desire, just a policy want.

Jean Rees has what I mean all in easy to understand form, just take a look:
What do I mean?
The same CDC guesstimates ~75% of all kids ages 0-11 have had an actual Sars2 infection, based on seroprevalence of N antibodies. I borrow from Phil Kerpen here:
Green boxes are my home state of Massachusetts. For all ages, there is a whopping 6 percentage point difference in prevalence versus…….Florida!!! It’s been brutal here in Boston metro North for a long time with restrictions, masks, etc. Better as of late. Florida was wide open and we did 6 points better??? To this day my work (large pharma company) is only about 50% staffed in person, up from 10-20% since June 2020 due to “The Pandemic”:
Unreal.
Scott, You can Shut Up Anytime Now
Scott Gottlieb has been average during the last 2 years, often making a lot of sense mixed with pushing vaccines like oxycontin. As a former FDA head and now Pfizer board member, he carries a bit of influence. I think he has been fine.
But that goodwill is over. Faced with the fact that vaccines for ages 0-4 have not met any endpoint for approval, and it’s not transmission (off the board) nor hospital admits (vanishingly low in that age group) but just antibody response and they STILL could not meet the required level for normal approval, Scott goes full salesman and says “so what, it’s better than nothing!”. Except as seen in above charts, almost all kids have had Sars2!!!! Better than nothing, minus a depressed immune system for a few weeks and heart swelling risk is a net negative. Scott is selling what no one wants anyway not named Karen:
Boosters are up for approval for ages 5-11, while uptake of regular series is around 30% nationally, but very high in blue states. So no one will be convinced.
Rhode Island would like to double your income tax if unvaccinated, so the myth of the magic of these things just has not gone away:
Can I ask, is 4 shots AND a Sars2 infection = fully protected or still need a mask and work from home?
The Curious Case Of Twitter Trends Today
On a day when many accounts seemed to come back from the dead, and users were having a great time, this was on the sidebar and it made no sense. Clicking over, all the info was old “studies” that allegedly showed vaccine immunity was better than natural immunity, which we know is not true. One last run at fake news by disgruntled twitter employees? That’s my guess:
Nice try screwballs!
Stock Up Now!!!
I mean, with Peppermint Patty’s record and the Biden administrations intentional fuck ups, this all but guarantees a food shortage. Maybe it will be “transitory” at first. Remember that?:
Enjoy MSNBC with 50 viewers Jen!
Elon Musk and Twitter
Let’s see is my call.
I think Musk is doing a great thing for open speech and free discussion, but there is a lot of work to be done to fix what’s wrong. Can he delegate it? Can he focus on Twitter with all his other work? I reserve any real strong reaction at this point. But, wow, it’s been a lot of fun so far!
Reform is easy, just listen to Ari Melber tell you what has been going on for 6 years! I mean, he just blurts it out!:
His mannerisms and eyes show he’s terrified the same games will be done to the left. This is the way. This is good.
Cultural Corner
Cannot wait for this film. Love Ethan Hawke and looks just perfect:
Have a good night!
